From what I hear (people say this, correct me I'm wrong), there was originally going to be only one season of Pokémon. They were going to have more games, but there was supposed to be one season. All the other series were never going to happen, but because Pokémon was so popular, it continued.
What does this have to do with Pokeshipping? Well as you may know, Ash and Misty were the 'original couple'. Since none of the other series were supposed to exist as they claim, none of the other pairings should exist either.
They go even further and say Misty was the one meant for Ash. Because Misty was the first, original, and the supposed ONLY female lead to be created for Pokémon's one season, they say that Misty was created to get together with Ash. There's even a Japanese movie scene of a child that they use. They said that the child was going to be the child of Ash and Misty. They even say that the one season of Pokémon was going to end with Ash and Misty getting married.
At the time, Misty was the only main female so many say would be obvious for them to put Ash and Misty together. The only thing stopping this was the continuation of the Pokémon series. Because of this, Pokeshippers say Pokeshipping was going to become canon.
In brief, their argument is this. Since Ash and Misty were meant to be together in the beginning, they are meant to be together in the end. What would you say to this?

There's so much wrong with this.
Even if they were supposed to end up as a couple, the anime has clearly evolved. In the beginning, electric attacks also could hurt ground-types. Just talking about things that should never ever happen. They were never protrayed as a proper couple. It might very well be that there was never supposed to be any real romance in the first place, resulting in both of them walking their own paths. In the end, talking about things that could have happened is useless. They didn't. There are other seasons, other companions. I don't care if others continues to live in their little dreamworld as long as they don't bother others with it.

Ash and Misty are supposed to be a couple, even if there's not as much build-up leaning towards it outside of the bratty pestering (don't even think of throwing 4kid hints!!!).
Electric attacks can damage Rock/Ground Pokémon but not Rock/WATER Pokémon!!!
Sleep attacks = KO!
About that child from the 1st Pokémon movie trailer, how is it that they cannot theorize that she might be related to Miranda/Voyager (that pier manager/owner in Mewtwo Strikes Back)? If that little girl would be Ash/Misty's offspring, then why isn't Miranda look at least a little aged?
I don't buy it. Move along.

This argument from the pokeshippers is silly. It's just a case of nostalgia the Misty should end up with Ash. If Dawn was in place of Misty, then they'd be pearlshippers instead.
To be honest, it wouldn't matter who it would be. As long as there the first pokegirl, then they'll ship her with Ash.

I remember reading this somewhere on YouTube in the comment section: "Yeah we only like Misty because of nostalgia not because she has a personality or anything"

Im not saying everyone who likes Misty is nostalgic, there's some who just won't accept change and give the other characters a chance. You can like more than one character after all.

That sounds like it could also be sarcasm but I don't know the context so I can't really say wheter it is or not. If the commenter was serious, well, it's just sad. That's probably the same kind of person who hates all but the first 151 Pokémon because they are 'unimaginative' or something like that although everyone knows it's just nostalgia. I know, not everyone is like that, it's just this attitude that I really loathe.

I know, not everyone is like that, it's just this attitude that I really loathe.   It can be considered bad to like only the original 151 Pokémon. But what I find is that it's more acceptable among people to be an "anime genwunner" and hate all but the Original series of Pokémon. Now that's what I can't stand. It's obvious that DP onward didn't have 4Kids dubbing or Misty but the entire season is shunned just because it's not the original. Liking only the original 151 is bad. But it's totally fine to hate all the seasons but OS. Sure, they can argue how the original surpasses the rest, but in the end they would still be 'anime genwunners'.
