Makes sense since nostalgia is what they are stereotypically accused of.

It is. I mean, nostalgia alone? There's nothing else you like about it?
Why support it?

I can imagine there are enough people who support it for solely that reason. I usually wouldn't care but it is sometimes coupled with an undying need to annoy everyone nearby with their beliefs without provocation.

It can be considered bad to like only the original 151 Pokémon. But what I find is that it's more acceptable among people to be an "anime genwunner" and hate all but the Original series of Pokémon. Now that's what I can't stand Same here. You know, this kind of over-nostalgic people really pisses me off. They always say something like "OS is the best season and all other seasons sucks". These kind of people are blinded by their nostalgia and always say how the show has gone downhill since Misty left. It's annoying when they praise OS, then bash AG, DP, BW and XY. AG was not the original either. But guess what? Some of the older fans still watched it. After the voice actor change, however, most of them completely abandoned the anime(thus missing Ash's battle frontier victory). Even today some crazy 4kids-obessed fans talks trash about the "new" voice cast.(yeah, even though it's been 8 years since the change they still call the voice actors new.) More like 'anime genwhinners'.
