I think it would be best for now is if they want to confirm pearlshipping, they just show Ash waiting for someone who happens to be Dawn and that will be it. They wouldn't think about dating at 10, looking at it realistically.
Actually, better yet, if they want her to return and travel with Ash, make her role bigger than Ash's to give us a slightly different story.

I suggest maybe a series of her own. Imagine that, a Pokémon series with Dawn has the protagonist on her own journey with Piplup!!!
I very small cameo where she's on the phone with Ash wouldn't be too bad either.

As much as I want to see her again, I'm also afraid of another cameo like in BW. Sure, there were good scenes, but I would have hoped for her to be more active. The increased duration can't compensate for that. As a result, I'm a bit torn when it comes to her return with favors shifting quite often. Her own series certainly would help help fix one problem, but DP was still the best in that regard. Two stories, two main characters combined in one series.

We could always have Ash travel with her and give her assistance like he always does back in DP. Of course, it won't be the same as DP with the whole two stories, but at least it still feels similar in some way. As long as those two are together, I'm perfectly fine with what we get. Unless there's nothing going on of course.

I don't want Dawn coming back and being stuck in the background doing very little. Maybe in the future but most definitely not now. Dawn being in the background won't be the biggest worry for me. She being regressed like Ash has in BW will be my major concern. Honestly, was that really Ash Ketchum in some (or most) of the BW episodes?! I felt a bit of conflict between the writers as since the 1st Don Battle tournament, we see a repeated formula happening outside the battles. There's too little variety and too much rushing. Seems like all of them write themselves into many corners. Well, there is THAT around, regarding Ash and Dawn traveling together, but I wish to share them with you all when the time comes.

When it comes down to Ash and Dawn traveling together, I would like Ash to have the secondary main role and Dawn having the primary role of the series. The reason is simple. Ash is getting old as a main character. He never manages to achieve his goal. Closest was Sinnoh, but that's it (although if it wasn't for Tobias, he could've done much better). And I would like to see how Dawn progresses when they travel together again. I felt that her departure in BW was a bit quick and incomplete, although I don't know what it is for sure. And yeah, definitely do not want Dawn to regress like Ash did. She developed a lot already, no need to let that all go to waste. As far as character wise, Dawn still has a lot of unused potential, at least from my point of view.

I would think that if Ash has access to ALL of his Pokémon... at the very least they would reveal all of Tobias's 4 remaining Pokémon. Unsure if Ash would win, but being able to defeat 2 of Tobias's known Pokémon made that battle final battle worthy, compared to the actual final battle which got beaten by LOLrai like the rest of his opponents.

If only Ash would assemble a team of his top 6 Pokémon...we know that Sceptile, Charizard and Pikachu have fixed spots. Maybe Froakie can evolve soon and help Ash win a league. He's without a doubt a pretty skilled trainer. On a side note, maybe the animators should do a time skip. I mean, time skips aren't THAT bad, right?

I believe Ash should have won the SInnoh league. He was at his strongest back then and had his most powerful rival. Trip was just a disappointment after Paul and may be one of the reasons Ahs didn't do so well in Unova. His efforts should have been rewarded, but instead he had to battle a trainer with legendary pokémon. It could have been such an epic ending to his story. Maybe could also use a rival like Paul, who really makes her blood boil and doesn't use excuses like her being just lucky.

Pokémon is no longer a series that is a must-see-per-week/day thing to me. Simply it's a series I'm watching out of habit. This is exactly what i am doing
