auda: Finished it today. Believe me, the only "slog" going through the anime for me so far has been XY. I felt it coming beforehand as I already did not have a high opinion of the games themselves. SM I loved though, so I'm expecting that to be great.

yankeeimperialist: Oh hey, enjoy. The fanfic I posted actually diverges from the canon timeline towards the end of XY (the story was conceived in 2014), so you won't need to slog through Sun & Moon or Journeys to enjoy it. But enjoy XY all the same, it's pretty great.
