Generally High fives aren't hints!!! But in Ash and Dawn's case is the symbol of their friendship nad bond!!!
It is a gesture of communication, support and love!!!! And it's clear in the last High five they had in DP!!!! They coyld just say goodbye to one each other and get their ways but they wanted to secure that they are important to each other and they will meet up again!!!!
So it's not only a symbol it's their hole releshionship!!!!
It represent their past, their present and their future!!!!!!
