I ship it, its my favourite May shipping.
It’s definitely close to cannon. I loved the times when May and Drew were alone, the first time they were alone, was when I first started shipping those 2 together.

The Wynaut episode was when I first started shipping them together. Their alone time together in that episode was cute.

Well from this perspective, May and Ash wouldn't seem to work out ANYWAY, but that's what I've comprehended it as. Yeah, Contest shipping seems to fit May better, and the old saying is, "if the shoe fits, wear it." This fits May better than if she was with Ash. At least, IMO and my perspective of it....
