Since the gen three remakes are coming. The directors may bring back may. If they do it may help Serena get Ash or even worse respark advanced shipping. What are the chances of that happening

I'll start. 1.Dawn already came back in B/W. If she didn't, then I wouldn't be so sure. 2.Misty did not come back in D/P despite the fishing lure and her seiyuu saying that she will come back in D/P, so Dawn's chances of coming back in X/Y are just as high as Misty's were during D/P. In other words: None. Dawn may have to wait for a D/P remake or for an Anniversary for Pokémon where she is one of Ash's companions that returned. 3.If the writers wanted to bring back a female companion, why not Iris? I mean, Iris was the previous female companion before Serena just like Dawn was before Iris. Expect the writers to give Iris her B2/W2 clothes since she didn't have them in B/w if she came back. I do not see them neglecting Iris is favor of Dawn, who already had a cameo appearance before. Last but not least: 4.OR/AS promotion: Since it's obvious we'll see ORAS stuff in the future, they'll use the female player character of that game, who was one of Ash's female companions in the past. They'll probably bring May back for contests hosted by Lisia or bring back Steven with MegaMetagross. I don't see them using a D/P character(in this case, Dawn) for OR/AS. Thank you and I hope you understand me: I do not have anything against Dawn coming back, but reasons above, Iris and May are more likely. |

Almost everyone can admit that the writers likely may continue that cycle of previous female companion making a cameo return in the new region. But sometimes traditions are there to break. You can't always stick to one tradition. And besides, we're talking about Dawn. That means we're talking about popularity in Japan. And that means we're talking about marketing. Ratings. Sales. And we all probably know about XY's ratings and sales information. The return of Dawn can possibly change everything. Popularity is a very strong (marketing) tool. 2. XY we had Pochama. But you can't compare Misty with Dawn. Just because she didn't come back during DP, doesn't mean Dawn won't return during XY or other possible future series. Each character is different. Keep that in mind. Regarding the seiyuu, Dawn's seiyuu is well known and popular. She's still related to Pokémon. 3. Referring back to point one. And besides. BW wasn't well received, especially not at the end. And Iris? High popularity is not the case for Iris. Who wants a reminder of BW? I'm pretty sure loads of people don't want that. Although, I admit that the writers won't neglect Iris so easily. I even admit that she can possibly make a cameo, because of the tradition. But that doesn't mean Dawn can't make another cameo either. Like I said. Each character is different. 4. It is obvious that they could bring May back, because of the remakes. But we are talking about XY as a whole. Do you still think Dawn's chances are lower then? May's chances are there, only during the remakes. Dawn's chances are there during the whole XY. As for contests. Remakes or not. Dawn's chances are much higher then too. Contests is Pokémon. Contests isn't only ORAS. It was interesting to read your arguments. I hope you will understand me too and other Pearlshippers too. Thank you. I want to invite you to look through the arguments, theories, etcetera here on the Vault, DataCore, etcetera to see what's more used on why Dawn's chances of returning are higher. May has a chance of returning in the next movie I think but not in the main series.

May coming back isn't a bad at all (in my opinion). It's cool for me any time an older character reappears. The only thing stopping May from appearing is (from what I hear) her voice actor.

Actually, KAORI has recently returned to voice acting, so we'll see. There May may come back as part of ORAS hype. So, she is very likely to come back. |
