Devotedlamb19 has created two video in defense of Pokeshipping. Since then, no one has been able to top it. Many famous youtubers are Pokeshippers such as the JWittz, and anyone you ask will probably like Misty the most. Because everyone likes the original series the most (at least where I'm from in the U.S.), most nostalgia dwelling folks will naturally and only think about Pokeshipping. This youtuber, Devotedlamb19, has even explicitly stated her dislike of the DP series as well as her support for Penguinshipping (she already has a Contestshipping video). Misty's lure is also a used as a Pokeshipping hint in DP, but think of it like this. After DP, Ash never brought it out again, which means he never cared about her since his time with Dawn (at least on screen).
The way I see it, the dub is a Pokeshipper and the sub (JP) is probably a Pearlshipper. The dub did whatever they could to stop Pearlshipping, hence the false hint from Dawn to Kenny when leaving to the Sinnoh League. They used this as a chance to put Dawn and Kenny together and in order to keep their ship safe they forced Dawn to say she liked Kenny. But we all know this isn't true. Even Brock had to be a Pokeshipper (don't see what the youtuber dislikes about that) by holding Dawn back when trying to comfort Ash (after losing to Paul) and helping Kenny to get Dawn in that episode. JP, on the other hand, had countless amounts of songs, posters, ads, anime hints, and even an entire opening dedicated to Pearlshipping. It would blow Pokeshipping out of the water if the Pearl hints existed everywhere else; Ash and Dawn were just too close. Pearlshipping even inspired other couples, a trait not many ships have. Although the Psyduck hint in Chronicles was a JP hint, it was merely one-sided by Misty like always. And besides, did Ash ask more about Misty when Prof. Oak talked about her? I don't recall it (flashback doesn't count either).
I have to give this youtuber credit, she really did well in defending what the ship had to offer. But I believe that Pearlshipping deserves just as much credit. A counter argument to the "Four Reasons" could definitely be handled by this OTP. I think Pearlshipping deseves its own video in its defense!
