There is a theory about why Ash is still 10. Remember when Ash saw Ho-Oh in the first episode of Pokémon ever? According to one of its Pokedex entries, whoever sees Ho-Oh will be granted eternal happiness. For Ash, eternal happiness would be a never ending adventure catching Pokémon and battling, meaning he would never age so he could forever enjoy being a Pokémon Trainer. Pretty interesting if you ask me.
