It literally says on the homepage of DataCore that we aim to look beyond the bulbapedia page. So I don't know where people get the "we say the Amour page is full of crap but love our page" thing.

My friend, you have brought up a point I just got over the other day after seeing the kiss.
I realized that Serena's character may not be perfect in our eyes, but shes a character nonetheless. Looking at it now, it makes. If you had a huge crush on someone, wouldn't you say you would do anything for them? I would sure as hell do that.
Her character isn't centered around Ash, her thoughts are. Two totally different things.
I've also accepted that even though Ash is not the most complex or deep character, but those lacking qualities make Ash who he is. A cheerful, ecstatic, never ending source of hope and joy for everyone he comes across. And that made me reaffirm my faith not only to Ash but to the whole show.
Which is why now I am going to rewatch XY.
I also like Amourshipping, and I am happy they got their wish. Hell, a small part of me was happy, as I shipped Pearl and Amour back in the beginning. I still prefer Pearl, but I'm not gonna waste my time disproving amour.
I now respect Serena as her character, and wish I got this idea beforehand, so I could enjoy XY the whole time.

I admit I was initially hostile to Amour and Serena when XY first debut, that was when I almost expected Dawn to return but I was wrong about it. I gave Serena a chance and she grew on me. But I feel Amour hasn't hit the sweet spot yet. It does have potential, but what is lacking is a strong chemistry on a same level as Ash and Dawn's. At this point, I'm just neutral to it, but I like discussing Amour because it's interesting and contrasts nicely with Pearl to be a coexisting ship. But I think I might have a tendency to ship Dawn and Serena together, because the chemistry that they might form would have huge potential. They are so different in terms of personality, as if they are polar opposites but at the same time they share parallels and similarities, that somehow the writers intended for Dawn and Serena to meet together with Ash.
I think everyone should at least watch subbed episodes of DP and XY to make a judgment on Dawn, Serena, Pearl and Amour. Rather than simply dismissing Dawn or Serena outright.
I do believe that despite all what has happened, their big surprise wouldn't be surprising to me because it's there in Alola and afterwards where we see further development of Dawn and Serena, along with Pearl and Amour to their fullest potentials.

She grew on me because of her flaws. I had fanfic ideas of her, giving her growth. It's easier to do that with her than Dawn.

That seems like a decent yuri ship (especially after Madoka Magica) Not surprisingly on Pixiv, there is fanart of the ship, maybe they've caught on sooner than expected. And on the last episode of XYZ, #47, they have a Pokémon quiz where they have three Pikachus. Ash's along with two female Cosplay Pikachus in red and blue dresses, because of the contest categories Beauty and Cuteness. Coincidentally that could suggest Dawn is identified with blue color and Beauty while Serena is identified with red color and Cuteness. They have never included Cosplay Pikachus in their Pokémon quizzes, this is the first time they've done it. She grew on me because of her flaws. I had fanfic ideas of her, giving her growth. It's easier to do that with her than Dawn. Or maybe Dawn's flaws aren't as apparent or more likely to be overlooked as one would think. |

I have to admit I haven't read the whole thing, but I want to note about the whole "bratty shippers" thing that I honestly have never seen any Pearlshippers who behave like that. I believe that while there are definitely such Pearlshippers, the Vault is the wrong Place to look for them. In comparison, the YouTube comment section of just about any Pokémon video is filled with Amourshippers posting about their ship despite it having nothing to do with the video. I'm sure the silent majority of Amours is very friendly, but I'm not seeing much of it. So I propose this: We'll look for those out-of-bounds Pearlshippers you speak of and tell them to tone it down, and you do so on your side.
