#whatshade
I knew there was a lot of fake hints invented by the dub, but I've really seen many subbed episodes so seeing this is like wow. I think because Misty was the first girl and Ash was the main character they wanted to shove them together as a couple. Which isn't really good in the long run.

During the AG series. They could not except change so they added dubbed hints to rival Advance. Surprised there not trying to add mentions of Misty right now. But its not 4kids anymore soo yeahh.....

It's funny because I watched the original Japanese versions of those seasons and their is a huge difference between that and the English dubs. Then you look back at some of the Pokeshipping "hints" and see that they are considered "canon" which baffles me. I believe you can find some of them listed on Bulbapedia. Though it's not surprising seeing as how that site is biased towards Pokeshiiping. Don't want to rant but there are some delusional Pokeshipper's on YouTube that use the dub as evidence/sources to back up their claims. Even using non-canon material such as movies or stretching a hint that could mean something else. You'll hit a nerve if you stated evidence that goes against the dub based on my experience.
Anyways, Glad that base has died down over the years. During the Pokémon Chronicle seasons, Misty looked like she was written off towards Tracy. She even blushes towards him and invites him over constantly to the Cerulean Gym. I know this because Ash called Professor Oak and he asked where Tracy was. Oak responded by saying "Tracy is over at the Cerulean Gym. Misty invited him over again" So yeah, Orangeshipping has replaced Pokeshipping.

Also in one of the chronicles episodes Misty says that everyone she introduces Tracey to thinks that he's her boyfriend or something. I do like Orangeshipping. And not just because it prevents Pokeshipping from happening.
And yeah, on the bulbapedia shipping talks page I saw someone get called a sub purist because they disagreed with some dub hints.

You're right. I just saw that episode just to make sure of it and there were some episodes were Misty blushes when Tracy was mentioned. Orangeshippings is the best/perfect argument against Pokeshipping since it's using the same concept.
One other moment was forgotten here in this thread. "The Ghost of Maiden's Peak" was the episode. Towards the end of the episode, Misty was seen dressed fairly good for once and caught Ash by surprise. A lot of Pokeshippers believe this means he finds her "attractive" due to the background sparkles. I'm sorry but this is not true and here is why. It just indicated how great she looked for the occasion. Ash never commented and just had a confused look on his face. No blushes, no smile no nothing. Yet Pokeshippers claim this is a "hint" just from that background color/sparkles. Why didn't those sparkles/pink background appear when she wore the swimming suit? The only conclusion is it's just a spotlight moment on how she looked "girlish" for the first time since she was introduced.
Just another "hint" over stretched by the Pokeshippers.

The reason why Pokeshippers remain stubborn is because of all those fake hints they added. As well as non-canon songs like Misty's song. While I don't deny that there were some hints in the Japanese original, Ash still saw Misty as a friend on the same level as Brock. TPCi failed everyone. They kept supporting Pokeshipping, knowing Misty will never return. They downplayed and weakened Pearlshipping and Ash and Dawn's strong bond. I think even Amour, Advance shippers have to complain about it too to an extent. They literally butchered the majority of the anime music in the original, just so they can make a profit off of these unfitting dub-only songs. They promised us so much but are still practicing 90's dubbing practices. No wonder the show is not so popular anymore. The dub is literally unwatchable that I think 4kids is better except for blatant promotion of Pokeshipping and removal of Japanese cultural references.
I honestly hope they will keep Serena and bring back Dawn just to show these stubborn Misty fans their place.
