I guess it's a good thing that Ash didn't win the league, otherwise Amourshippers would be making a huge thing about it. But still, I feel so bad for Ash. It's been 20 years and he still hasn't won.

If my theory is correct, then the predictions I have made are spot on and the possible course of action of the writers for the last episodes of XYZ. My predictions are as follows, but they could be inaccurate.
Lumiose City is devastated by Team Flare Clemont and Bonnie remain in Kalos to repair their gym Serena follows her true dream and intends on following Ash to Kanto (unlike how Dawn chose to stay in Sinnoh even though she wanted to travel with Ash to Kanto) Ash has an unexpected guest waiting for him in Pallet Town, a city in Kanto or even Kalos. And the guest is most likely to be Dawn. Serena will encounter Dawn's Piplup.
Because of the nature of Amourshipping and how it's true intention is NOT to supplant Pearlshipping. But rather to complement in a symbiosis with Pearlshipping, which ties into my sun and moon theory. While it may seem that I am playing Devil's Advocate here, while I was rewatching DP and XY in Japanese subbed and raw forms, I began to notice some strange parallels.
And in terms of marketing, having both Dawn and Serena in a show as main characters alongside Ash make sense. Both are incredibly popular and can appeal to a broad audience. Braixen and Piplup are known to be quite popular but for different reasons.

Eh. We'll see what they'll deliver. Theories, hopes, prayers. How much will they be on target?!
Anyway, I'm proud of Ash making in the finals. Personally, the DP's semi-finals was more finals worthy compared to the actual finals in the Sinnou League, but whatever. A step up for Ash. 20 years following the guy is no different than still watching stuff like the Simpsons or Power Rangers or whatever. Doctor Who's still around, right?
Time to continue from where I left off.

Time to continue from where I left off. I don't know why people are so angry over his loss. They overreacted badly to his loss but that was also because they were lied to. It was poorly handled loss but Ash hadn't been a runner up in a major competition like a league until now. Alain was basically Zoey and Aria. Only Dawn and Serena had their undefeated rivals and they were runner-ups in the Grand Festival and Master Showcase. This further cements my Sun and Moon theory even more. The producers expected a backlash and the tweets by Matsumoto and some animators served as damage control. I really can't wait for Sun and Moon since it might be the first series where Ash gets to travel with two female game based protagonist companions for a long period of time. I feel that Dawn and Serena make ideal best friends, aside from Ash. Ash deserved his loss to Alain and Alain won fair and square. Things in the show happen for a reason.

Ash lost the league again? Wow i wonder who will win it first, Liverpool FC or Ash? xD
I honestly dont think it makes such a difference where Ash comes. I dont see it affecting Pearl as it has got nothing really to do with it and there are still more episodes left so something is going to happen with amour whether its good or bad as they've built up Serena's blush fest for so long now.

I mean right now, Serena isn't dropping her spaghetti like she used to, not as much. In the course of her journey, she realized that if she were to succeed with Ash is that she has to give more than receive. Ash underwent a similar depression as Dawn did and Serena tried to cheer him up. Serena admires Ash like how Ash admires Dawn, except Ash didn't blush or drop his spaghetti. As of recently, Serena's character slowly grew on me and she's just different than Dawn. Her personality is the opposite of Dawn's. Most Amourshippers and other people don't realize this but Serena can achieve a similar level of development as Dawn did. She's just different like how Serena is the moon and Dawn is the sun, they're just foils of each other. The intention of Amourshipping isn't to supplant Pearlshipping but to serve as a foil to it. I don't see it affecting Pearlshipping in any way. And I doubt that Amourshipping is a threat to Pearlshipping. Ash's loss to Alain again was to cement the similarities with Dawn and Serena. Alain was basically Zoey and Aria.

Alain was basically Zoey and Aria. I agree with you mostly and im starting to see a much better Serena than we saw in the first 90 episodes. I dont think however she will achieve the same level of development like Dawn did because Amours are too happy with the same she's come about in the show. She has however had shown character development (something i was unhappy about early in the show) and shows alot of potential to be a better character. Also makes me angry that they they could of done something better with her at the beginning where she stood around with her fenekin doing nothing but blushing rather than start to make her likable now. I'm still not a huge fan of Serena since i think she's there just for fanservice reasons but from where she started up until now, no one can argue that there has defiantly been signs of improvement. I do think they will somehow make her be with Ash and yes, that means replacing and forgetting about all the other ships. I just see amour as too big now to be ignored whether or not Ash won or not. Won't be surprised if you know what happened in the last episode. It feels too predictable :/
