This was about a month ago on September 30th. But that means even if Toyoguchi is away for a bit, that still means that Dawn can return to the series, just with a replacement voice actress for a while. As to who the person is, it's likely to be another voice actress from the same agency 81 Produce since they usually do the casting for Pokémon. Okay for this week, the preview for the XYZ Cilan+Clemont special is exactly the same as the previous one, they could show some new scenes, but it's the same thing for these previews and SM preview.. That means within that episode they are possibly hiding something or just keep people uninterested in it. Another reverse psychology tactic. Because whenever they want people to watch a filler or an uninteresting episode, they put Serena in the preview just so people can watch it. We might get a clearer picture as to what has happened between Ash and Serena on that escalator, but I doubt it. And they have a new SM series preview and new information right after that episode, so it's likely that they are hiding Dawn and Serena to Alola. It seems that the staff like to take the audience on a roller coaster ride for a bit and then blow peoples' minds and get them hyped up for Alola. Only one who likes Clian? But IDK about the episode

amourshipping comes from the word "amour" which means love in France, where Kalos is based on.

I canâÂÂt say for certain that something is 100% likely to happen, as there is always a certain margin of error when making calculations, but we know that during Alola/SM/Gen 7 is when they destroyed the concept of patterns by bringing Brock and Misty back, not once, but twice.
If Misty is back since over a decade ago, then there is no reason why Dawn couldnâÂÂt return. Anything is possible now, but I would like to present another frame of mind: PokémonâÂÂs main goal is not to sell games, promote the anime or manga, or even game consoles and whatever. ItâÂÂs main goal is to promote merchandise only. The games, anime are a secondary concern as they are the means in which they use to promote their Pokémon merchandise because that is what they make the most money on. What we are seeing with Sword and Shield is basically decades worth of pent up frustration and rage over Pokémon fans feeling dissatisfied. Whatever the outcome is, GameFreak, tpci doesnâÂÂt seem to care what fans think, for now at least because their marketing strategy has worked for them for decades, that they have constantly remained afloat because people are out buying Pokémon figures, plushes, all sorts of Pokémon merchandise outside of the games or anime series.
So I see this as a double edged sword. On the bright side, we can witness the potential return of Dawn to the series, as she is promoted in the series for one primary objective: to get people to buy Piplup merchandise because Piplup is DawnâÂÂs iconic Pokémon as well as still being considered as the cutest starter in all of Japan. I hate to sound this way but thatâÂÂs the impression I have after examining the evidence.
Thus describing the theory behind GamefreakâÂÂs marketing strategy is also to describe the past decade of Pokémon marketing trends and the reason why they promote Dawn and Piplup. Pearlshipping for example was the icing on the cake, the topping so to speak. Because Piplup just happened to be DawnâÂÂs starter and marketed as PikachuâÂÂs best friend ever since Gen 4. The introduction of Dawn is an excuse for Pokémon company to promote merchandise as well as advertise games that involve any of her Pokémon. Thus Dawn not only promotes Gen 4 remakes but also what the storyline of Gen 8 has in mind for her since she could theoretically be a blank slate for the player character much Iike Ash.
Of course Pokémon Go and production of their game âTownâ has thrown a wrench into their plans to an extent, but GameFreak has an idea is that its attempting to diversify through mobile games, not any different to how they would do anything to promote Pokémon merchandise.
