Some forums I've seen encourage creating new threads for a subject which has already got a thread instead of posting on a thread whose last post is months or even years old.
We disagree!
We at Pearl Vault would much prefer you to post in an old thread than to create a new one just because the first is full of cobwebs. Not only is it tidier & neater, but the old thread will not be wasted & left to rot.
If the thread in question is really that old, it would not matter much either if you change the latest subject, as long as it is still about the original subject (To be fair, this applies to all threads active or old but in active threads, just make sure that the participants are not deep into the matter.) - there will be no one who cares enough about the last subject to stop you, or else they would have posted.
Finesse out.
