These are the new Shoutbox Rules on the forum. The main Pearlshipping Vault rules still apply.
No swearing
There's not been much swearing at all on shoutbox, none from members at any rate. That's why shoutbox is now members only, and if there are complaints on swearing and proof, there will be sanctions. This depends on the severity and repetition of the offense.
Don't cause distress
Saying anything on shoutbox that is clearly there to cause unrest will have its consequences; it ruins the atmosphere for those shouting and doesn't create a good image for those viewing the shout, some of whom may be guests. Obviously if this is a one off situation, we'll let it slide, because life happens, but if this carries on and on and on, perhaps a break from shoutbox would be best both for the member and the community. This would be a weeks' break.
Update: Hello guys, Sakura here. Being a person who is often caught in the middle of these kind of situations, there is something important regarding this topic that I need to address. I understand that things occur in life that caused you to become stressed or depressed, but taking out your feelings on shout is not a wise choice. If you really would like to spill your feelings, talk it through with either me or any other member that you trust in PM. If you would rather not discuss it, I suggest you do something that you enjoy or will help make you feel better. The point of the shoutbox is to chat with the members, get to know each other, and have fun. Bringing up depressing topics or taking out your anger at the other members is not right and it harms the mood of the other members and their motivation to come back on. If this occurs constantly, take a break from shout like Ice mentioned or I will be forced to give you a warning.
Spamming
This is posting the same thing over and over again. This could happen as a result of dares, but if the spamming has no reason for it, other than personal urges of the member, a verbal warning will ensue. If this carries on afterwards, there will be a weeks' ban. If the behaviour carries on afterwards it will be two weeks. And if it STILL happens, it'll be obvious that it'll carry on, and there'll be a permanent ban.
DON'T be alarmed. As this forum grows bigger, there'll be more members, and it's time I got the rules up to scratch. It's better to have the rules here before things like that happen, than to make the rules after they happen. The safekeeping of the community, after all, is of the utmost importance.
That's it! Have fun.
