Can anyone with more idea how this works explain to me if it's a good idea to double down on my story, and post it on both Wattpadd and Fanfiction.net? Or is there a specific niche to put on Fanfic net?

I've never posted on wattpad myself, but it's often perceived as a place with a younger audience and the fics are cheesier. (Not saying it's true, just the perception).
FFN and AO3 are the "usual" places to post and you might reach a broader audience if you try there. Although it's harder to gain traction on those sites, in my experience.

AO3 is short for Archive of Our Own. It's a pretty big fanfiction site, bigger than wattpad probably. It has more of an anything goes attitude than the other sites, which has attracted an older audience.
