Hi everyone except trolls. I have an idea that the procedure of Buizel - Aipom trade was too much like the wedding rings exchange. Happy and excited partners, witnesses who are their best friends, Brock and Zoey, pokeballs with Pokémon as their wedding rings. Did either Serena, Lillie, Iris, May or Misty bind their fate with Ash in such way? We know how Ash and Dawn treat their Pokémon. I can't believe they both forgot Buizel and Ambipom, so they remember each other too and will never forget. These two are the most imminent signs and results of their fixed and still going mutual love, even not Pikachu and Buneary, as well as not Pikachu and Piplup. I think it fits all speculations about current love flowing between Ash and Dawn, including songs' original lyrics. And to prove my point, I'll add screenshots from filb.de : Happy faces before (they really look being in love with each other) www.filb.de/content/anime/dp/055/353.jpgAsh and Dawn being damn serious and focused as if it is really their marriage www.filb.de/content/anime/dp/055/356.jpgBrock and Zoey as witnesses www.filb.de/content/anime/dp/055/357.jpgHappy Ash after www.filb.de/content/anime/dp/055/363.jpgHappy Dawn after www.filb.de/content/anime/dp/055/364.jpgP.S. Ash and Dawn funnily had their first Pokémon-wedding night as well. XD See how happy they were: Ash www.filb.de/content/anime/dp/056/027.jpgDawn www.filb.de/content/anime/dp/056/029.jpgThey even had a traditional firework after their Pokémon-marriage made by their exchanged 'rings' www.filb.de/content/anime/dp/056/037.jpgI found the symbolism at that moment astonishing. 'No need to worry' indeed. Just be patient.

I mean, I guess? I wouldn’t compare it to wedding rings, but definitely shows a trust factor that doesn’t show up with other girls for ash and never again for dawn

May be you are right.
My opinion is based on the purpose and usage of wedding rings - by them people bind their fates with each other and those are kept as a sign of their responsibility for each other.
Now we come to Ash and Dawn. Let us say, as if it was real, they did not trade Buizel and Aipom. They left all with their Pokémon. The only things they would have would be memories that would not bind them tight, and they would not have mutual responsibility as partners.
But in the reality Ash has initially Dawn's Buizel in Kanto and Dawn has initially Ash's Ambipom (Aipom) also in Kanto. IIRC, both Ash and Dawn touched Ambipom's tails, and Ash mentioned that he could eventually visit Ambipom. This means that despite being parted, they both still have the responsibility of taking care of at least one of their shared Pokémon.
I also would not be suprised with Dawn taking Ambipom back to Twinleaf, visiting Ash and Buizel. She has at least three reasons to visit Kanto. And if Ambipom comes back to Sinnoh, Ash would have another reason to visit Dawn. This is binding the fate with each other.
