I totally agree with you, but it's not only their bond but the fact that their relationship is based to friendship and that make it even stronger!

OK, so I have to agree that Pearlshipping is better, and not just because I'm a Pearlshipper4life. I pay attention to every littlw thing. I've been comparing the two back to back and watching an episode of DP followed by one of XY. Ash seems more aware of Dawn as well. Ash seeing Serena as a friend and nothing more. With Dawn they are friends, but heading towards something more by the end of the DP series. So Pearl's better basically, end of discussion!!!!!

Comparing the two his relationship with Serena is deadpan compared to his relationship with Dawn. Of all the XY I've seen, I can't really say I've seen a good scene of the two of them having a meaningful interaction whereas I could turn on a random episode of DP and around 7-9 times out of 10 see Ash and Dawn interact in some kind of meaningful way. Pearl's base is friendship and bonds where there's the unconditional support of helping the other's dream come true whereas amour's base is a blushing passive assumption of what Serena sees Ash as and never does much to help him if not at all. But that's if you're asking me.

Pearl's base is friendship and bonds where there's the unconditional support of helping the other's dream come true whereas amour's base is a blushing passive assumption of what Serena sees Ash as and never does much to help him if not at all. But that's if you're asking me. This is the primary, central difference between Amourshipping and Pearlshipping. After countless observations, it is clear Amourshippers seek the best romance and Pearlshippers seek the best relationship. We have completely different values. Pearlshipping values mutualism, compromising, making up, working together, a strong bond, harmony, and Ash and Dawn as a duo. Amourshipping values gestures, compliments, attraction, blushing, hugging, and Serena herself. Amourshippers want to downplay Pearlshipping and say that it merely has the best friendship? Relationship downplayed to friendship? Well, romance should be downplayed to the best crush. No matter how exclusive people think Ash's actions to Serena are - the simple truth is, Ash is just being friendly. He doesn't show any particular favoritism towards Serena. Anything that appears to be so is something XY Ash would easily say to another girl. Why is Pearlshipping's relationship seeking still valid when romance is the end goal? It's because Pokémon isn't about romance or the characters - the focus is on creatures and the bond that humans have with them. That's why the bond between Ash and Greninja in XY&Z is getting 50x more focus than Amourshipping - it's the cake! Amour is just the icing fanservice to create hype, appear super sweet, and to keep people watching. A crush is common. Even romance is common. But an inseparable, everlasting relationship is rare. We Pearlshippers appreciate the special, unique, one-of-a-kind pairing of Ash and Dawn.
