Sorry haven't been on here for a while but I will speculate that the new female protagonist is suspiciously similar to Hikari. Because the overall Japanese theme of Sun and Moon games are Japanese children moving from Japan to Hawaii to make new friends and start new adventures in a foreign land. As in the kid, like Satoshi or Hikari moves with his/her family to Alola and makes friends with the local kids and connecting them through Pokémon. And that the female protagonist of whom Hikari is based on in the DPT games also has black hair like the female Sun/Moon protagonist. My most ridiculous theory is that Hikari would eventually be dressed as the new Pokegirl. Now if Alola has something similar to contests they can have an excuse to shoehorn Hikari in as Satoshi's companion again. The XY series failed to even mention Iris or Dent or even consider their return to the main series but managed to keep some memory of Hikari intact. There is also considering a potential remake of Diamond and Pearl games. The relationship between Serena and Satoshi is also quite different than Satohika overall. I'll do more research on the Japanese side but I wouldn't be surprised if Japanese pearlshippers have the same speculative suspicions as I have. Sorry if I'm going a bit off topic and off the crazy end, but I have to let out some steam. Of course my speculation is very unlikely to happen but keep an eye out just in case.

I know I can be wrong about it but you have to admit that chicken hat looks absolutely ridiculous. I'd take Serena over that hat.

I'd take Serena over that hat. I wouldn't go that far lol I tend to be balanced and neutral about these things. The only thing in my opinion Serena has going for her are her looks. Other than that, the writers made her one dimensional and she is just completely what's wrong with Amourshippers. I'd take cute girls in background any day. I mean aside from her crush on Satoshi and obsessiveness over him, she was basically Brock for a while then turned into some mixed abomination of May, Dawn, Misty and Iris.

Take me a look at the second part, at the bottom, there's Ash and Pikachu. Just who the hell is that girl next to him? It could be a fake but who knows.

IT ALL COMES TOGETHER
In 2006 was the Pokémon 10 year anniversary, Diamond and Pearl were released (in Japan) and Dawn was introduced (in Japan). In 2016 there will be the Pokémon 20 year anniversary, it can mean many things but the possibilities are:
1) Dawn gets a cameo 2) Dawn comes back for Alola 3) Dawn gets replaced by someone similar to Dawn. But who could replace Dawn, obviously she has to be better than Dawn in all respects.
But what if Dawn gets a cameo and comes back? What if Dawn gets a cameo again and never comes back? Sure there are loose plot ends and plotholes. But so far Serena isn't pushing through to surpass Dawn in Japan and her presence is half-assed.
Now I feel as though it's all up in the air. Dawn could have came back for XY rather than having Serena but it would break the 10 year anniversary trend. Serena replaced May and Kalos eventually became the parallel to Hoenn. Iris still hasn't shown up yet, she replaced Misty for obvious reasons. Dawn hasn't shown up either, but she still gets some indirect references.
ORAS was for gen VI. Diamond and Pearl remakes could be for gen VII. Obviously Piplup is still reasonably popular in Japan these days, and they can bring Piplup back again. And again, you can't have THE Piplup without Dawn.
Now it's time to think, while before I would have thought Dawn would have returned for Kalos years ago, only to be disappointed by Serena over and over. There is a roughly 10 year span each for Red/Green to Diamond/Pearl and Diamond/Pearl to Sun/Moon. Think about it, this could be huge this time around- Dawn could come back or she gets replaced by someone similar to her/Ash. But the existence of someone like Dawn is mutually exclusive to the existence of Dawn. If they do replace Dawn, it could be understandable but it would seem they would have thrown away years of false hyping, even when no other previous companions were referenced other than Dawn. What are they trying to tell us? But as they say, it all comes together.
WHAT IF
Ash-Greninja was the foreshadowing of what was to happen in Sun/Moon, as the alternative to Mega Evolution? The writers and producers of the show seemed to introduce Serena into the show because obviously they knew about how the Sun/Moon games were in the works, in preparation for the 20th anniversary. And obviously Serena was a character done at the last minute, and we would rather have had Pansy over Serena. But they had to have a four-companion group like in AG. Bonnie being the female parallel to Max, Clemont being the Brock/Cilan-like May (in terms of having a younger sibling) and Serena being the May-like Brock (since she is background material). And this anniversary is going to be huge, something that most people would not expect, but we knew all along.
An Ash victory at Kalos DOES NOT mean that Amourshipping is vindicated in any way. Rather it is a vindication of a stepping stone for Ash's goal, that Dawn is known to be looking forward to. And expectedly Dawn would have reached a milestone in her goals as well just like Ash. Serena did not influence Ash, in the same way as Dawn did. Get ready guys, 2016 is going to be huge.

An update to the official site has revealed six new Pokémon. Two of them are the Pokémon revealed in the most recent Corocoro leak, while four are brand new. Let's start with the ones we already know. Mimikyu, the Disguise Pokémon, keeps its Japanese name. As previously reported it is a Ghost / Fairy type, and its Disguise ability enables it to take one free hit in battle without taking any damage, before being broken. It is also portrayed using Slash using a shadowy limb extended from beneath its low-budget cosplay (which apparently it makes itself, by making markings appear on a plain cloth). Kiteruguma is now known as Bewear - though I am still not sure why is it continuously pushed as a bear when it is obviously a red panda (which, unlike the giant panda, are not actually bears). As previously reported, it is a Normal / Fighting type, it is classified as the Strong Arm Pokémon and its ability is either Klutz or the new ability Fluffy, halves the damage taken from moves that make direct contact - though the trade-off is giving it an additional weakness to Fire moves. I suppose mascot suits are highly flammable after all. And now for the actually new Pokémon. . â First off is Wimpod, the Turn Tail Pokémon. It is a Bug / Water Pokémon that I can only assume is meant to be some kind of a crustacean (the name suggests an isopod or perhaps a copepod). It is apparently very cowardly, and its ability, Wimp Out, makes it escape or switch out when its HP is reduced to less than 50%. Whether or not this escape is accompanied by a group of minstrels singing about how Brave Sir Wimpod Ran Away is a whole other question - though I personally hope that it gets over its fears when it evolves and becomes a true terror of an aquatic arthropod. The thing is pretty dang adorable as it is, though! It is shown using Struggle Bug. Bounsweet, the Fruit Pokémon, is a Grass type Pokémon based on the mangosteen fruit. Its abilities are Leaf Guard or Oblivious, and apparently it spends a great deal of its life looking like it's skipping merrily when it's actually running for its life from things trying to eat it, or getting dizzy by helicoptering its leaves around to drive its foes away. How the species survived in the wild is anyone's guess - but it did, so there you have it. Comfey, the Posy Picker Pokémon (say that three times really fast) is a Fairy type that, let's be honest, had to happen. What is a Hawaiian-based region without flower leis? Hardly a Hawaiian based region at all. Its fondness for flowers aside, Comfey is a spirit of healing, often serving as a medic in Pokémon Centers. Its abilities are either Flower Veil or the new Triage ability, which makes its restorative moves gain the highest priority in battle. Lastly, we have Mudsdale, the Draft Horse Pokémon - a Ground type with the abilities Own Tempo or the new Stamina ability, which raises its defense by one stage when it is hit by an attack. It has a new move called High Horsepower (looking at the thing's eyes I can definitely see why - that certainly appears to be a rather high horse), shown to be Super-Effective against Togedemaru (which means it is very likely a Ground-type or a Fighting-type move, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Rapidash could inherit the thing somehow). Alongside the new creatures, a new mode called 'Hyper Training' has been introduced (probably the next logical step from Super Training), which is apparently capable of changing Pokémon Stats even after they reach level 100. The Hyper Training tutor apparently collects Bottle Caps, which serve as payment for such. The event Magearna distributed with the upcoming movie is supposedly holding one such bottle cap. Lastly, a new feature has been added to the Global Link - the ability to host your own tournaments, with customizable rulesets (not many options have been revealed so far, but this may change with time). Overall another fairly snazzy update full of interesting creatures. Here's to the next one?
