New revealed in Sun and Moon!
Today, a new trailer was released for the upcoming Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, and it reveals quite a bit more information – click through for more!
First up, the legendaries now have been fully revealed...
Solgaleo
Psychic Steel
Ability: Full Metal Body
Category: Sunne Pokémon
Height: 11'2"
Weight: 507.1 lbs
Lunala
Psychic Ghost
Ability: Shadow Shield
Category: Moone Pokémon
Height: 13'1"
Weight: 264.6 lbs
Full Metal Body and Shadow Shield are brand new abilities. Full Metal Body is identical to Clear Body, and prevent other Pokémon from lowering Solgaleo's stats, whereas Shadow Shield is identical to Multiscale, and means that an attack hitting Lunala while it is at full HP will do less damage.
Solgaleo and Lunala have new moves, too: Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam, respectively. They disregard the opponent's Abilities when striking, which means it ignores abilities like Mold Breaker.
We've also had confirmation that you can choose from eight different designs at the start of the game for your hero, and it seems that the ability to customise them will return from Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. We've also got concept art for the two default trainers, including the female trainer's utterly dreadful chicken hat.
Next up, Alola's regional Professor has also been named as Professor Kukui, and is basically a beach bro. He is accompanied by a mysterious girl known as Lillie, who is fond of reading, but does not like making Pokémon fight in battles. She is working with the Professor for personal reasons, and is most definitely part of the plot.
Your trainer's "friend" *cough rival cough* is called Hau, and apparently has a massive appetite. He makes friends with you straight away when you move to Alola, and is always in search of malasada, a famous treat in the Alola region.
The Alola region has been confirmed to consist of four tropical islands. They are said to be rich in natural beauty. There's also a fifth island, which is artificial. It looks very much like there are four sections to the Pokédex again, much like how Kalos was divided.
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will also feature a "Rotom Pokédex," which, as the name implies, is inhabited by a talking Rotom. It also seems to offer the map functionality usually featured in a separate device too, as well as being sassy. It will function as the bottom screen for Sun and Moon. It's said to be extremely rare – only a handful of Trainers in the Alola region have one.
