That's the 2nd part of my dislikes. However, we know that everything gets these kinds of responses these days, so the nonsenses gets shrugged off. I mean, they have no evidence, they have no reason, they don't even have a purpose. Unless they got some form of backup, count me out!

So we are basically talking about the shipping fandom in general right now.

Well the question asked is really referring to in show canon, if I'm not wrong. The fandom itself is a whole different kettle of fish.

Well the fact Serena's character is basically JUST armour shipping! Like I know she's doing these show cases and all But when you hear the word Serena All that comes to mind is Armour AND THATS NOT GOOD FOR A CHARACTER! They need to write her better!! Way better! Just becuase she lost that one time she cuts her hair and changes herself Please! Dawn had a whole arc where she was depressed As we all know as the depression arc Her character needs more then just armour Like they need to step of from that The fact armour is so forced I really dont like it. I like something more natural and developed like Pearl! In a relationship it cant be one sided... The fact she went on a journey just because of ash... It kinda makes me think that she can't move off of armour. The fact she can only be armour... Everything is so forced with her and how she develops was sooo slow The fact her fenniken evevolved didnt really satisfy me like how the other pokemons evolve. Why? It really didnt seem like she desereved it just yet! Maybe having it evovle during a better and more fitting situation. But yeah...thats what I wanna say.... Sorry if I sound offensive

Serena's character is pretty much made for fanservice and views.
Poor character development, uninteresting, a bad influence (so far..) and has no real purpose for being there other than like everyone has said, Amourshipping
Every companion that's been in Pokémon has always had some goal or interesting personality. It took Serena 50+ episodes to even find a goal and its not even one you'd be bothered about.
I'd respect amour more if she was an interesting character to watch but all i see is a massive money sign on her head.

Obviously Serena's characterization plays a major role in our dislike of the ship since she is Amourshipping, but there are many other factors that play into why I don't and won't ship Amourshipping.
1. The origin of Serena's crush. Serena gets lost at the camp she was forced to go to, gets scared by a Poliwag, hurts her knee, Ash finds her and helps her out. "Ash and Serena belong together because they met each other as kids and he was her hero." - Common Argument I refuse to believe that Serena is "in love" with Ash over that simple meeting. She barely knew Ash prior to joining the group. The backstory may have been "adorable", but it's a weak foundation for a ship. There was no revelation on whether they continued to interact after that chance meeting. Heck, Ash didn't even remember her when they initially met again proving that the chances of more interaction between them at the camp are pretty low. If anything, Serena is just chasing the image of the perfect boy who will hold her hand through every challenge she has to face.
2. Serena's heavy reliance on Ash Like I mentioned before, Serena is chasing after the image of a guy who will always stay by her side and guide her through her path to self-discovery. Serena needs to learn how to be independent rather than expecting Ash to always be there to encourage her. Being too dependent on one person can hinder her ability to grow as a person. The moment he's gone, she's going to lose her motivation and feel lost.
3. Lack of confrontation and communication This has been addressed before in a well-written analysis, so I'm not going to go into depth. A lot of Amourshippers point out that Ash and Serena have never gotten into an argument. While it may seem ideal, it is just not realistic or healthy. Arguments are natural and can strengthen a bond. When two people are in a relationship, they need to confront a issue that occurs between them. What if Ash and Serena got together, but they continued to never argue? If Serena only pouts and does nothing every time he makes a decision or does an action that she doesn't approve of, there will be major communication problems between them two. They will also both be unhappy in the relationship if this continues.
4. Lack of Development Blushing, blushing, and more blushing. It's common knowledge that Serena likes Ash. The writers will tease and heavily focus the merchandise on those two, but it doesn't change the fact that Amourshipping has not gotten much development as a ship. There has barely been any romantic development from Ash's side, and many people tend to overlook that. Most of Ash's "hints" have been just him taking the role of the leader in the group and being a good friend. Now that there isn't an older figure in the group, Ash now has to mature and take on the role of keeping everyone in line. Encouraging Serena or helping her cross the river does not automatically mean that he is in love with her. We have yet to see actual hints of romance from Ash. It takes two to tango after all.
5. Overall a relationship between those two based on their current interactions would only head towards a path to destruction. Amourshipping has become insanely popular just because there is finally a main girl with a canon crush on Ash. A lot of Amourshippers only view the ship through their rose-tinted glasses and fail to see that the cons outweigh the pros. As a couple, Ash and Serena would start off as an "adorable" common couple only to spiral downwards after a couple of issues and challenges that occur. They are not "relationship goals". Their dynamic isn't even that special to be honest. He doesn't treat Serena much differently compared to how he treated May.
Ash and Dawn have the best dynamic out of all of the Ash pairings. Their relationship is unique and strong that Amourshipping just cannot top no matter how much the writers promote it to please the fans. Canonicity isn't the only factor that makes a ship so wonderful. The relationship dynamic plays a major role in it as well.

Serena…she is just too prissy! I mean Dawn wasn't all "OMG Ash! Don't look at any other girl except me(she didn't ACTUALLY say that stuff but it sure LOOKS she WANTS to say them)!" Then Serena winks at Ash and he, being the dense guy he is, completely ignores her XD . . Dawn was really close to Ash just being herself but Serena had to cut her hair AND change her outfit for a better impression( which obviously didn't work)! Before XY, I used to hate Misty but now I think Misty doesn't actually like Ash but likes Tracey! Serena was also very slow in getting a goal which BTW seems odd as in why would she start traveling if she didn't have a goal?!?!

Please keep in mind that serena is NOT obsessive. She's needy, clingy, and dependent, but not obsessed with ash. I mean he's a huge role in her character but ash isn't an obsession to serena.
