High Touch is explicitly mutual. Even without our interpretation, only a fool would deny that.

High Touch is explicitly mutual. Even without our interpretation, only a fool would deny that. Ash and Dawn are also mutually exclusive in High Touch. But what he meant was that "one song does not make a ship canon".

He also said our interpretation was distortionate or something of the like. I forget the exact words.

I looked, and listened, and indeed, it shows a strong friendship between them. Does it show they are romantically interested in each other? NO.
I see High Touch as more of a sign of them being close friends. Only a fool would deny Dawn and Ash were close friends. But they were nothing more. The song does not imply the shipping will become canon, it just emphasizes their close friendship.
And I say the same thing with the DoriDori ending shot: Ash tucking Serena in WOULD be an Amourshipping hint if they were the only ones.
But they weren't. It shows he cares for her.

Why do you need romance to express love? High Touch was presented way before this song existed. Please tell me you have seen the DP series at least once.
DreaDrea has everything everyone likes to see. Amours or otherwise.

There's a song called Candy Girl in the same single that describes Serena's crush on Ash. Candy Girl unlike DoriDori is an Amourshipping song.
I think the singer flat out stated that its a song that describes Serena's feelings for Ash. I would also say that it describes her empathy for him and how much she wants to be close with him. As well as wanting to develop a strong bond with Ash. So it just isn't a crush on Ash anymore for Serena, it's on a much deeper level that she can understand why she likes him as a person. Sort of like Serena wants the situation described in Ash and Dawn's duet. And the lyrics feel like they're describing something opposite to that of High Touch, like Serena wants the same strong bonds that are described in High Touch.
It does feel like the opposite of Pearlshipping songs, Serena desires to bond with Ash, and if she met Dawn, she would envy their bonds. But at the same time while Dawn can be friendly to Serena she could feel an uneasiness regarding Serena's obvious crush. And because Serena is more of an introvert compared to Dawn, she has trouble bonding with Ash unlike Dawn. So I think her character was conceived long before the XY games were made. Just so Dawn has a female friend who she can relate to on a long journey with Ash. "It's like we have a character that's the emotional opposite of Dawn but we can't put her in BW or have her in DP because it'd take attention away from Dawn. Okay, we'll just put her in XY instead."
I've always felt that DP and XY were introductions for both Dawn and Serena. And since they have been hinting at Dawn's return and Serena's retention in the cast, and that SM seems to be nostalgia-focused like DP then all seems bright to revive the series. In terms of story, aside from shipping, the three seem to be made for each other.
The ultimate endgame is that Dawn becomes more like Serena and Serena becomes more like Dawn in respect to their feelings for Ash. Dawn has the strong bond with Ash, but lacks the spark of romance that Serena is known for. Serena has the spark of romance, but lacks the bonding capability that Dawn is known for. Serena seems to me like she was a loner before she met Ash while Dawn had actual childhood friends and acquaintances around her, like Barry, Leona or Kenny. Dawn was closer to the recurring characters than Serena was ever close to them. To Dawn, they were friends but to Serena they were just little more than acquaintances. Dawn only has Ash as a close friend of hers (of course she has a crush on him but she's almost as dense as Ash), and Serena tries to emulate the same relationship with Ash, but couldn't bond with Ash very well unlike how he bonded with Dawn. The series is just begging for people to notice that Dawn and Serena are eventually going to be best friends, learn from each other and sharing much of the same interests, including Ash.
So far I don't think there were intense rivalries between female Pokémon, only male Pokémon.
So if Serena and Dawn were in the same series, and Dawn has her Buneary with her... Serena would catch a female Pokémon with an obvious crush on Ash's Pikachu. This Pokémon would develop a love rivalry with Dawn's Buneary over Pikachu. And it would symbolize the secret, hidden love rivalry between Serena and Dawn over Ash while still remaining the best of friends.
Initially Serena had this idolization of Ash and believed that he was perfect and can do no wrong. As the story further progresses, she realizes that Ash isn't the perfect person she thinks he is but still has feelings for him. Her feelings developed from a simple crush on him to strong feelings. Problem with Serena is that she has trouble bonding with Ash and make a connection with him in the same sense Dawn has with him.
