JohtoFesta ok I had to delete the post you made on this thread cause of the ummm insults in it, cause as much as we disagree with a certain point I have to act on the forum's rules and delete that kind of personal insult, cause of the strong language, but at the same time: michael147 I'm not going to stop you from thinking a certain way because I can't control that, but at the same time, people "like JohtoFesta" and I and probably most of the people here don't need what you deem to be a logical reason to think Ash and Dawn are still children. Like maybe not exactly exactly 10, but certainly early teens. Given the overwhelming evidence from the anime that they aren't, to put it crudely, legal, I don't think any of us will be able to give you evidence to justify our opinion that satisfies you but at the same time we don't need to, either. We're not here to police each other's thoughts. Therefore, I cannot and will not police your thoughts, but what I think is making other users potentially uncomfortable is overt sexualisation of occurrences in the anime, if you refer to the forum rules I think it is quite clear that all topics must be suitable for a general audience. Please bear this in mind and I will enforce this rule if necessary.

I don't think any of us will be able to give you evidence to justify our opinion that satisfies you Mh yeah, it's not like the writers/developers explicitly stating that Ash and friends are 10 isn't a more than enough "logical reason." Word of God is more than enough "evidence" to justify. Btw, nothing he's said has been "logical" or realistic, hence the quip about social retardation. Sad that you don't delete his offensive posts. God forbid, my insults are true and on the money. But this day and age of the internet, we're not allowed to shame or call out pedos without being censored for "saying mean things." Meanwhile, those same pedos are allowed to spread their manipulative, filthy rhetoric. smh |

I will just say WHY I did this one and the last time to clarify that I'm not what Yampa said. The most I can be accused of besides raising this topic is that I don't live in a vacuum with my eyes closed, but live seeing and believing. Sorry if I bothered anyone here.
There were official things in Pokémon anime that WERE WEIRD (I clearly say it - weird and ridiculous) - Yampa, I bet you know about Kohei looking at Hikari from the lower underwater while doing an assignment for the Pokémon School, I bet you watched the episode where Satoshi got a fever in XY, I bet you know to what Serena reacted with embarassment, I bet you know about Brock's Poison Jab, not to say about the girls' appearances, Misty's, May's, Angie's, Serena's, Mallow's... To be absolutely exact, the first ones to be blamed for what you said about me should have been... the creators of Pokémon. I mean there were official precedents and they were a part of the anime, whatever attitude you have to them. But would you forgive me?
The second thing I should mention is that I really couldn't ignore that Satoshi and Hikari's behavioural patterns that really contradicted with the "God's words" about age. I mean their really impressive and caring outbursts they had throughout the whole DP. Let's omit the quarrel, Yampa, could you write a separate topic about who Satoshi and Hikari were to each other in your opinion? Personally, while watching DP I had no doubt that all the actions taken by them showed the boyfriend - girlfriend, even the PARENTS level. Hikari's Pochama's dream was a confirmation of my words. I hope I don't need to emumerate all their moments. No couple with Satoshi was as mutually physically close (I have to stress here for your claim - how they were very often situated near each other). No couple with Satoshi was as emotionally close, following the marriage vow of sharing good and bad moments together, showing an excessive compassion and sympathy. No couple with Satoshi was as mentally close - this was shown primarily away from each other (Hikari thinking of Satoshi and Satoshi thinking of Hikari, thinking separately from Takeshi, the mutual responsibility). Only Hikari clearly showed her conscious and not delusional realisation of attributing herself to Satoshi. Only Hikari had the concern to follow and support him everywhere like a girlfriend does, DP 191 start is also here. And by the words of Yampa, I came out in an inappropriate way just for counting two and two together - It's like you have all the components for an absolutely perfect romantic relationship puzzle but lack the final element. Can you imagine ketchup without tomatoes or vinegar? Would you forgive me for that too?
P. S. And Yampa, I beg you to do what I asked. And some words about other pairings. It will be really interesting to read.

They're canonically ten years old (as much as Ash should NOT be, and Dawn in current canon too) but I think part of the confusion is that Pokémon trainers, for all intents and purposes, live like 'mini-adults.' They lead their own, independent lives and pick up life/social skills faster than kids typically tend to.
