Why do you dislike the Naruto ending?

PlatinumSun oh lord. where do i start? now let me preface this post by saying this: i am not upset with the ending because the ship i liked (in this case, narusaku) didn't happened. in fact, i'm glad it didn't happen because kishi can't write romance to save his life. no. the reason i hate the ending and the subsequent material (the last, the gaiden, and that extra chapter) betrayed the rest of the story. kishi made a lot of promises before the war: sakura getting a full year of the manga focused on her, further fleshing out of the cast, etc. but he broke those promises when the end happened. sakura's character was gutted from the many years of development that turned her from a useless fan-girl into a powerful competent ninja who could stand on her own. in the end, he erased all because a mature adult sakura would never want to get back with sasuke but stupid fan-girl sakura would, regardless of how much *human waste* he put her through, including trying to murder her at least 2 times. sasuke could've been a compelling character but in the end, he didn't change beyond being a aloof avenger who didn't seem to care about anyone but himself and his own ambitions. naruto's whole back story was horribly retcon'd just so naruhina could happen. hinata. i'd rather not say much about her other than she didn't earn her happy ending. then you have the later stuff with everyone grown up makes me want to vomit. sasuke is a dead beat father who has rarely seen his own child. naruto's son is a brat because naruto doesn't spend enough time with him. that's not the naruto i know. the naruto i know would want to spend all the time in the world with his kids since he didn't have a real family growing. at very least, he would never send a clone to play to his son. sakura went from being one of the best medics in the world to a lonely house wife who hasn't seen her "darling" and is sick with some kind of illness. in fact, outside of hinata, no one from the original manga seemed all too happy with their lives. not to mention, sarada's entire introduction was nothing more than a episode of the "maury show". and naruto isn't even technically the hokage. he got beaten up by his 6 year old daughter throwing a temper tantrum and konohamaru had to turn into him and take the oath for him. naruto's dream was turned into joke. in the end, the ending was a betrayal. kishi screwed over his own story for money and making the shippers happy. they got the pairing they wanted. it's that the rest of the story had to suffer for it. now i'm not gonna say that everyone who likes the ending is crazy or stupid, or anything of the sort. you are free to like it. but for me? as writer and a fan, the ending was a slap in the face and doesn't deserve the praise it gets.
